Friends for a Greener Vernon was started after the Ice Storm in 1998.
There was a plan made up and some of the things were done like the gardens by the Vernon signs at the North and Southside.
These gardens are maintained by Helen Porteous and Jose Poole, the north sign has poison parsley but we work around.
The 2 flower pots and benches have now been moved from Bank Street to the library and museum.
